The Cuisinart HB-155PC Smart Stick Hand Blender may just be our favorite among the entry-level Cuisinart line. No, it’s not built like a Bamix or is as tough as a Waring, but it’s extremely inexpensive, looks great, comes with a strong motor and has a variable speed control. For more more information about this sleek immersion blender and what we and others think about it, please continue reading.
Features & Specifications
The HB-155PC comes with lots and lots of bells and whistles for an entry-level hand blender. First off, it has a variable speed control – something that neither of other two popular Cuisinart models (the CSB-75 or CSB-79) has. In addition, it comes with a beautiful polished steel finish that is just nice to look at. However, it is still built to work, and is fitted with the standard 200 watt motor that is more than enough for typical light/intermittent use.
Given its budget aim, you are not getting a ton of free accessories. Nevertheless, the whisk attachment and the 16-oz BPA-free mixing beaker are of good quality. Also thrown in are a recipe book to get you brainstorming and a operating manual. As a further bonus, the unit is covered by a limited 3-year warranty.
Cuisinart HB-155PC Smart Stick Reviews
To date, this model has earned an average satisfaction rating of 4.3 out of 5.0 stars on amazon.com based on 6 user reviews. The following quote pretty much captures the feeling of nearly all of the reviewers:
“It is well made of metal and is very easy to clean. The things I like the most about it are the variable speed knob, the release button to detach the business end from the handle, and the nice grip and power button that make it easy to operate.“
There were really no complaints about performance among the reviewers, save one 3-star reviewer who said that he was disappointed that the unit could not replace a food processor.
Price & Value
Simply put, we struggle to see how you can find a cheaper immersion blender that has this kind of power, attractive finish, and comes with variable speed control. As a result, the value of the Cuisinart HB-155PC Smart Stick is second to none, making it one of the best choices for those seeking a very inexpensive option that does not cut big corners on design or quality.
Concluding Thoughts & Opinions
If you want an immersion blender for occasional and/or light duty, such as making soups, sauces, whipping cream, etc, then the HB-155PC will do the job well. On the other hand, if you want to put a lot of mileage on it, and mix lots of dry ingredients or blend heavy, dense foodstuffs, we suggest you go for a more durable, heavy-duty model, such as the Breville BSB510XL or a Bamix, either of which should give you many years of use.
